Phil Carney
Buckinghamshire, UK

Phil Carney has been making collages for about 4 years. He writes, "I make narrative collage works greatly influenced by my love for cinema. I hope to draw the viewer into my work to observe a single framed human emotion. Be it love and desire or, in particular loss and the pain of memory. I make all of my work with found images and papers, cut and glued." MORE

The Art of Letting Go

Elisabeth Wild’s collages emanate a sense of vibrant interior spaces charged with unsettling dualities--movement and stasis, off balance and equilibrium, contemporary and timeless. In Kolaj #21, Etty Yaniv tells the story of a 95-year-old artist from Vienna who is making collage in Guatemalan jungle. MORE

Metaphors and New Connections

Using his knowledge as a graphic designer, John Washington makes digital collage using Procreate on a 12.7-inch iPad. Unlike many of his digital compatriots who create seamless, blended imagery, Washington borrows heavily from the look and feel of analog collage. Washington, a former police officer, has had an interesting life and brings his experiences to his collage work. A portfolio of Washington's collage appears in Kolaj #21. MORE

Chery Holmes
Westmount, Quebec

Chery Holmes has been offering her depiction of the world through artwork images since the 1970s. Like one of her more recent works, citizenM Hotel NYC, Holmes sees herself as an outsider in this world, looking in through a large grid of glass on all sorts of activities and images that impact her creative imagination. Holmes' sneak-peek view also captures innumerable working materials of all shapes and colours suitable to the expression of her favourite exalted moments in time. MORE
